Drawn with the precision and love of nature and dated 1929, this beautiful design by artist Joseph Stella was originally sketched in the Bronx Botanical Garden, with its exotic plants appearing in an imagined scene from the Bay of Naples. Hence the 'Neapolitan' song is reaching across the sea, bridging the distance between Stella's old home and his adopted country of the United States.
